February 18, 1960 - June 13, 2016
Sheryl Francine Staude, the beloved daughter of Pearl Staude-Miller and the late Rudolph F. Staude, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away Monday morning, June 13, 2016, after a long, courageous battle with the complications of diabetes.
Sheryl was born in Pineville, Louisiana on February 18, 1960. Two years later, Pearl and Rudy Staude fell in love with this beautiful little girl and adopted her into their family. Growing up, Sheryl moved with her parents to Little Rock, Arkansas, then Hampton, Virginia, and Baltimore, Maryland as her father was promoted through the ranks as Superintendent of the National Cemeteries in those cities. After Rudy retired from government service in 1970, the Staude family settled in Arvada, Colorado, where Sheryl finished high school. The family was active members of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Arvada.
Sadly, Sheryl was soon diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. As her health deteriorated, she needed supervised care, and, for most of her life, Sheryl resided at Saint Paul’s Health Center, in Denver. She had many friends among the residents and staff there.
Sheryl Staude is survived by her son, Alan R. Staude, and mother, Pearl Staude-Miller, both of Denver, two brothers, Bob Windecker and his wife Judy, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and Ted Windecker and his wife, Charlotte, of Lakeway, Texas, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. We will always remember her bright smile and gentle laugh.
