Sylvia Maria Woodhouse was born June 1, 1938 in Denver, Colorado to Eleanor and Richard Genaro. She had six siblings, in order: Jeanne Sabet, Joanni McMullen, Linda Meyer, Toni Adamo, Kathi Garland and Richard Genaro. She married Franklin Hadley Woodhouse, Sr on June 27, 1963. She had three children: Gina, Lisa and Frank Jr. She is survived by all her siblings, children and five grandchildren. On the face of it, Sylvia’s life seems ordinary but her family knows otherwise. She was a great mother and grandmother, with an amazing imagination that she imparted to all of her children and grandchildren. She loved her family fiercely and only they knew how fierce that love could be. The Woodhouse house was the house to be at when her kids were growing up and she was the one that made that possible. She cooked and baked and made a home where everyone liked to be. She leaves not only her children but their friends whom she fed and listened to, offering her own brand of advice. More importantly, she offered a home, hearth, and her presence whenever anyone needed that comfort. She loved to create things, and was constantly doing various crafts. She loved opera music, musicals, crossword puzzles, books, all things blue, and anything about Italy.
She survived many trials that would have brought an ordinary person to their knees, but Sylvia never got knocked down. She faced everything and just moved forward. Every single thing that happened to her served to make her tougher and stronger.
The trials never stopped but she always seemed to rebound, that is until she contracted on Covid-19 April 11, 2020. Despite a valiant effort, she was unable to defeat this virus and on April 29, 2020, she passed away.
She leaves behind her grieving family, which includes not just her children and siblings but her grandchildren Alec, Connor, Magali, Emily and Mason and her 100 year old mother, Eleanor. Memorial service will be determined by the virus.
