Thomas Emerson Beard, of Aurora, Colorado passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Tom was born in Tampa, Florida, on April 21, 1961, to Dora (Witt) and Edward Beard. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a medical technician for four years in the 1980's, before embarking a career as a long-haul truck driver. Tom loved animals of all kinds and frequently transported rescue animals across the country while driving. His efforts led to countless successful adoptions and saved the lives of numerous pets that might otherwise have been euthanized. He is remembered as a true patriot with a compassionate heart and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his mother, Dora, of Aurora, Colorado, and sister Mary (Sean) of Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggests memorial donations in Tom's name to the Denver Dumb Friends League or any animal rescue organization of their choice.
