Sunday’s spent in the kitchen all gathered around laughing, sharing and chit chatting about our day. As we wait patiently for the masterpiece (the peach cobbler ) to be hand crafted in what seems like a few minutes. As Wilma whips up her yummy crust...I’m watching her every move, flour sprinkled, peaches simmering on the stove. We wait...the house fills up with this sweet aroma of love and laughter. Whenever I got a chance I’d sneak a sit in her lap to get a lil extra LOVE. Sweet as the peach cobbler she made with Love. I love you Wilma...thanks you for opening you home to me and the boys. Praying for you all miss and love you guys...Lisa❤️

Even though you were my Grandma, I always referred to you as Mom. My A one from day one! We were each other’s number one fan! My twin, my buddy, my confidant, my heart! Like you would always say “Old Soldiers Never Die...they just fade away!” Although, you have faded from this earthly existence, I know that you are unfolding in a much better time and place. Beyond time, beyond space I will see your beautiful face again ... for energy like your never dies! You were truly one of a kind, and I THANK YOU so much for everything! What a life! What a legend! Until we meet again.... I LOVE YOU MORE.

Ms. Wilma will be missed. Praying for the Holy Spirit to administer peace and comfort to her family. She is safe in the arms of God.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Wilma through working with her wonderful daughter Gwen. I loved her office visits, she brought sunshine in and always had a kind word for us. I admired her desire to give foster care, her loving heart and giving spirit was inspirational.
Thank you for sharing her pictures, the video tribute was beautiful.

To the family of Ms. Kennedy:
My heart aches for the entire family, especially for Ms. Opal and for her Daughter Erica. Both of these ladies have been an integral part of my circle. Erica, we love you (Mikayla, Cerise and I). I attended True Light Baptist Church with Ms. Kennedy and looked forward each Sunday to sitting with her. We would nod and agree with the Pastor on issues we both felt strongly about. When her health failed and she was no longer able to come every Sunday I missed her presence so much. Her warm and loving smile, her warm embrace when she would see me and of course that lovely laugh. Her family is so lucky to have had her for such a long time. I know it seems not nearly long enough but just know your lives are richer as a result of her presence. In life we meet so many people but then there are those that capture your heart, and she was one of those people. When watching the lovely video placed at this website it was clear to me how much her family loved her and how much she loved them. So many family celebrations and gatherings to cherish. It is obvious how you rallied around her when she was sick and impressed upon her how much you loved her. What a life well lived!! These are such extraordinary times that we are living in but how wonderful it is that nothing we are going through can match the love we have for each other and our loved ones. May God Bless each and everyone of you and Thank You for showing such love and affection for my friend Ms. Wilma Kennedy.

I believe spirits can feel the love of ones heart.God has called Wilma home to be at peace with no pain and suffering, and to be with her best friend,my dad.Wilma always looked after my dad as he always looked after her. When God called him home, she would always call to check on me and ask about the family.I remember how we would laugh, joke and cry reminiscing of the joys in the past.Im thankful and blessed to have known the beautiful, spiritual and loving person that God created .Wilma will be sorely missed, and never forgotten. With much love,Angela,Chris, and Family💖🌷🌷

They say when you love someone you show them and let them know while they are here in your presence. I am honored God allowed me to love on you! I am grateful for you showing your love to me, my Husband and his family, my Children, my Girlfriends and our entire Family every day. Without you there would be no me! I write this tribute to let others know what an amazing Woman you were, because you and I already know! The saying that what is understood needs no explanation, our bond was explainable...it was unconditional love. Every Single time I walked in that door to the kitchen it was 'Heeeey Girl!!!' and then I'd hit ya with the one leg shimmy, drop it like it's hot dance, of course you would laugh so hard then ask 'where them kids at?, basically telling me to get it together! You know this already, but I will always remember your guidance and take care of me...and while I'm doing that, take care of my family and especially your daughter G! Everyone can't be a graceful, loving warrior but I'm sure gonna try! I know you are hitting the 2, 4, 6 step in Heaven, but thanks for the love you leave as my piece of heaven hear on earth!! Not goodbye but see you later and don't wait on me!!

My Mother In-law,

I was very Blessed to have such a loving and funny mother in-law. We would talk about the Broncos and her favorite basketball person was Lebron James and during our conversations she laugh, laugh and laugh so hard that she would literally start crying, LOL! My Mother Wilma will be solely missed but we all know that she is resting in God's Open Arms.

Your favorite son in-law,

My precious mom was so very especially to me she was my hero my strength and my comfort zone My memories I shared with her are priceless and endless, My special moments spent with her will be forever stowed deep in my heart & soul forever until we meet again.
I will always remember my mom's face that had a glow that radiated with happiness and joy it was obvious that she loved life and lived it to the fullest. My mom was a giver with a heart of gold she consistently gave to her family and so many others throughout her life.
She was a good person inside and out.
She always carried herself with poise and grace with a charismatic personality that made people drawn to her beautiful and charm and caring spirit.
She always treated people fairly and taught her children and others to do the same.

Thank you my Mom for being the best ever
Through my eyes mom you will always be my bright shining superstar 🙏
Enjoy paradise
