Yolanda was deeply loved and raised by her grandmother, Beatrice Cruz, whose care and presence helped shape her early years. She is now reunited in peace with her beloved mother, Roselyn Yvonne Vance (1939–2018), and her brother, Ramond F. Vance, who proudly served in the United States Navy.
Yolanda’s life was marked by challenges beyond her control, carrying the weight of serious mental illness from a young age. Though her path was not easy and often unseen by many, her life held value and meaning. Beneath her struggles was a gentle spirit — one that endured more than most could imagine.
Throughout her life, Yolanda was cared for by many within the medical and support communities, including Denver Health, Aurora Mental Health, InnovAge, Cherry Creek Nursing Facility, and Hampden Hills Post Acute, where she spent her later years. In her final days, she was supported with compassion through hospice care.
In the absence of consistent family support, Yolanda was lovingly advocated for by her cousin more like a sister, Jennifer (Jenn) Ramirez, who served as her medical and financial Power of Attorney. Jenn ensured that Yolanda was not forgotten and worked tirelessly to see that she would be honored with dignity and respect.
Yolanda’s life is a reminder that every person carries a story, and every life — no matter how difficult — deserves to be seen, valued, and honored.
She is now at peace.
A taharah (traditional washing and preparation) will be performed in her honor — a final act of love, dignity, and respect — ensuring she is laid to rest gently and with care.
May her memory be a blessing, and may she finally know rest, wholeness, and peace.
