Alan David Bayer

Alan David Bayer, 68 of Des Plaines, Illinois was born January 20, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to Raymond and Evelyn (nee Reis) Bayer and passed away peacefully on May 18, 2023. Alan was the beloved brother of Michael (Janet) and Kevin (Melissa) Bayer. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alan was a dedicated White Sox fan much to the chagrin of his brothers and coached little league baseball. Alan was active in the Optimist’s Club of Des Plaines and was a long time employee of the Des Plaines Journal.

Friends and family will gather for a Celebration of Life that will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016, followed by inurnment at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.

Alan’s family request that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to your local homeless shelter.
