Anne J. Smolak

On July 23, 2026, Anne J. Smolak, of Des Plaines, IL, peacefully passed away at the age of 97, surrounded by her loved ones. A devoted mother to Linda (Don) Chance and Daniel (Eileen) Smolak, a proud grandmother to Christopher (Quinn), Michael (Tracy), Taylor (Ben), and John. Her legacy lives on through her great grandchildren—Michael, Joey (Claudia), Ryan, Hannah, Jackson, Larkin, and Scarlett. Anne is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Anne also loved her great grand-dogs Misty and Emmy. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John, her devoted parents August and Anastasia, her beloved great grandson Rhett, and her ten siblings. Her kindness, warmth, and cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

Visitation will be held at Oehler Funeral Home, (2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016) on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Visitation will also be held at St. Zachary Parish (567 W Algonquin Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60018) on Monday, August 3, 2026, at10:30 am followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at church at 11:00 am

A Committal Service will immediately follow the Mass at All Saints Cemetery, (700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).
