Antonino, known as "Nino" to his family and friends, lived a long and happy life. From his childhood in Sicily he migrated to the United States where he met his wife Amalia. They settled first in Chicago, and later, in Mt. Prospect where they raised their family. Nino became an electrical engineer and spent many years working at the Zenith Electronics Corporation. He made and maintained hundreds of close friendships, some that lasted more than 70 years. He loved to travel, delighted in food and cooking and was never more comfortable than when he was giving an impromptu speech or showing off his signature moves on the dance floor.
Nino is survived by his devoted wife, Amalia R. Cancasci; his two daughters, Rocio (Dan) Novello and Katia Birkett; his son, Vince (Erica) Cancasci; four cherished grandchildren—Monica (Adam) Biernacki, Sergio Silva, Kendalyn Birkett, and Pia Moon Cancasci; three adored great-grandchildren—Diana Hoffman, Noa Biernacki, Leo Biernacki, sister Vittoria (Nino) Giannone and numerous nieces and nephews. Antonino was preceded in death by his mother Carmela and father Vincenzo, sisters Maddalena Caccamo and Concetta Cancasci, and brother Michele Cancasci.
Antonino’s legacy lives on through his family and the memories shared by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
