Apollonia was born in a small farming village in Romania in 1930. She emigrated to the United States as a young woman, where she would soon meet and marry her husband of 53 years, Emanuel. They raised four children together; three sons and a daughter.
Loni, as people close to her called her, spent many years working at Marshall Fields as a seamstress. A trade she learned in Germany after WW2 from a nun at her school. She enjoyed traveling back to Europe and managed to share that passion with many of her children and grandchildren, taking them along and showing them her heritage.
She leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She loved them all, and they loved her in return. She is now with her beloved Emanuel.
