Beverly graduated from Taft High School - class of 1941. Coming from a musical family, she grew up taking voice and piano lessons. She also learned various domestic skills including sewing.
While attending Albany Park Baptist Church, she became acquainted with Walter Tuleweit. They both attended the youth group there. Walter was drafted in the Army during WWII. While he was stationed at Sheppard Field in Wichita Fall, Texas, he and Beverly married on October 23, 1943.
They bought their first home in Des Plaines and raised their three children there. She and Walter enjoyed an active life and once Walter retired, they enjoyed several Caribbean cruises, including trips to the Canadian Rockies, Hawaii, and England; as well as traveling often to Wisconsin and Michigan for family reunions. She was the oldest member of the Evangelical Free Church of Des Plaines.
Beverly is survived by her son, John A. Tuleweit; daughter, Deborah (Allen) Waldier; grandchildren, John W. Tuleweit, Jack (Lillian) Waldier, George (Nicole) Tuleweit, Eric (Kathy) Waldier, Ruth Campbell, Karol (Kyle) Kimpel, Alex (Erika) Waldier, and Jeremy Campbell; great grandchildren, Joseph Tuleweit, Daisy Campbell, Abigail Waldier, Jessa Waldier, Myles Campbell, Lucas Waldier, Jaxson and Natalie Waldier, Wyatt Manring, and Ethan Waldier; step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua Marino, Melissa Ulrey, and Hayden King; she is also survived by her cousin, Marion Bakanowicz.
Preceded in death by her husband, Walter (2007); son, Gary (2020); sister, Elvira Vanboxtaele (1976); and niece Janice Hoffman (2023).
Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St, Des Plaines, IL 60016. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM also at Oehler Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights.
