

He was born on May 7, 1947, to the late Josephine (nee Due) and the late Frank Schnell. Brad grew up on the northwest side of Chicago and was proud of his Oriole Park roots. He had an MBA and Masters in Rehabilitation, specifically working with the blind community. Along with his wife, Laima, Brad served in the United States Peace Corps and together they travelled to 45 countries. Brad played the guitar, was a good dancer, and had a good sense of humor.
Brad is survived by his beloved wife, Laima, mother-in-law, Emily Valancius of Orland Park, nieces Terry Tenner of Schaumburg and Karen Murphy of Hoffman Estates, brother-in-law Ed Valancius and sister-in-law Kathy Valancius of Massena, New York. He is preceded in death by his father Frank, his mother Josephine, and brother Wayne Schnell. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him across the United States and the world.
Visitation Friday October 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St., Des Plaines, IL.
