Dale Allen Schwed

Dale A. Schwed, 72, of Niles, Illinois, passed away on July 14th, 2026. He is survived by his children, Stacy Sarley, Jason Schwed (Lilibeth), Patricia Aoyagi (Michael), and Matthew Schwed; his grandchildren, Bri, Jessica, Joey, Carli, and Lincoln; and his brothers, Scott and Neil.

Dale was born in San Diego on June 8th, 1954. His family relocated to Illinois shortly thereafter, and he ended up spending much of his life in Villa Park. Dale worked as an engineer for Union Pacific as well as a consultant for Arcadis, and he took great pride in his work. He had many interests outside of work, including woodworking, construction, and grilling—he was known as the “BBQ Master” of the family. Dale also enjoyed caring for wildlife. He would stop traffic so deer could pass, and he could often be found feeding them in the cemetery. He was an avid Bears fan, and it is our hope that you remember Dale’s love of the game and of spending time with his children each time you gather with your own loved ones to watch his favorite team play.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, July 20th, 2026 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois.
