Dean Robert Benson

He is survived by his loving wife Marlene, his angel during his fight with pancreatic cancer; loving father to Bridget (Rev. Peter) Gilroy of Cumbria England, Daphne (Luis "Danny") Benson Morales of San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, and grand dogs Sasha and Renzo.

Dean is preceded in death by Peter (Papa), Alma (Mama), his siblings; Hilda Qualey, Peter Elmer Hanson, Edwin Hanson, and Florence Coats, and his biological father Dean Earl Benson.

He will be dearly missed by his cherished relatives who called him Uncle Deanie or Uncle Dean, and friends who referred to him as "Oz", a boyhood nickname from when he grew up in Danville.

At the age of six months he was taken in by the Hanson family who raised him as one of their own. Dean was an avid Notre Dame College football fan, as well the Cubs and Da Bears. He also enjoyed spending time "tinkering" in his man shed.

Due to covid-19 a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
