He is preceded in death by his wife of almost 55 years, LaVerne Zoros (née Patelski). Deno is survived by his children, Joan (Randy) Davis, Jim Zoros, Tom (Myrna) Zoros, Donna (Kim) Sterchi, and Nancy (Kriss) Lindell; his grandchildren, Brad (Sarah), Kelley (Jason), Brette (Randy), Gio, Brooke, Carson (Cristyn), Connor, Weston (Grace), Hunter, Kendra, Mackenzie, and Gibson; thirteen great-grandchildren; and his loving companion of 19 years, Karen Klingelhofer.
Deno was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 24th, 1927. He served as a Third Class Petty Officer in the Navy from 1945-1946 and graduated from Senn High School in 1947. Deno worked for Benefit Trust Life for forty-two-and-a-half years. He was able to spend even more time doing what he loved after retirement—visiting Florida, traveling to new places, rooting for his favorite teams, the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, and most of all, creating memories with family. An adoring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Deno made quality time truly special with his great sense of humor and amazing cooking. He enjoyed socializing with other people and will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
A visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 AM on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Interment private.
