Dimitrios Morikis

Dimitrios “Jim” Morikis, 79, of Rosemont was born Nov. 26, 1932 in Megalo Horio, Greece to the late Konstantinos and Aikaterini (nee Kardaras) Morikis and passed away March 17, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Dimitrios was the beloved husband of Efstathia nee Megalis; loving father of Katherine (Ted) Arvanitis and Diane (Tom) Diamond; cherished grandfather of Paige, Peter, Steffani and Georgia; dear brother of Paraskevi Morikis, George (Becky) Morikis and the late Maria Blouharis, Vasilios (Rena) Morikis, Christoforos Morikis and John Marikis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dimitrios worked in the beverage department at the Chicago Hilton and Towers in Chicago for over 30 years. Visitation will be Monday March 19, 2012 from 3-9 PM at Oehler Funeral Home 2099 Miner Street (Northwest Hwy/Rt. 14 and Rand Road) Des Plaines. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 9:00 AM for procession to St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church 7373 N. Caldwell Ave. Niles, IL for funeral service at 10:30 AM. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers contributions to the Greek American Rehabilitation and Care Center 221 N. First St. Wheeling, Il or St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church appreciated.
