She was born in Chicago on June 19, 1929, to parents from Italy, Michael and Florence Formento. Dolores was preceded in death by her brother Carl (Margaret), sister Marie (James), and brother in-law-Russell (Mary). For 59 years she was married to the love of her life, Ralph. For several years early in their marriage, they lived in Reno, NV, working in the casino industry, experiencing the flourishing world of entertainment and nightlife. Moving back to Chicago then later to Rosemont, they raised three children: Donna (Roger), Ralph (Beth), and Diane (Paul). As a couple, they danced the night away into their elderly years, and enjoyed golfing, boating, and traveling. Everywhere they ventured, good friendships were formed and nurtured. Six grandchildren are her legacy. Brett (Lulu), Greg (Lauren), Zachary (Kristina), Emily (Ethan), Christopher, and Elizabeth. Nine great grandchildren round the circle of life: Evan, Kenton, Avery, Evelyn, Caleb, Raygan, Eli, Blake, and Treyson. She was a loving aunt, cousin, and friend.
A wonderful, outgoing, generous, and gracious human being who remained quite active and relevant well into her 90’s, we will miss her greatly. Her faith and her love for life was evident in everything she did. Our world and everyone she touched is abundantly gentler and kinder because of her existence.
“In every memory, we keep a piece of you alive, forever etched in our hearts.”
