

Don Kellerman of Des Plaines, born March 7, 1938 in Chicago, IL. Don graduated from Lane Tech High School in 1956 and entered the Marine Corp reserves. Upon leaving the military, Don worked at Business Arts Studios as an Account Executive for Montgomery Ward, supervising design, art and photo direction. In the late 60’s, Don was a pioneer in product design development as he designed the packaging for the first pull tab beer can, Saran Wrap and many other products. Don was passionate about coaching young athletes. He coached eleven years for the Waycinden Little League and Twelve years for MPMFA, where he also served on the Board of Directors. In 1970’s Don was an active member of St. Zachary Parish Port of Call. Most recently, he was a member of the Des Plaines Planning Commission for nine years. His home was always open to family and friends as he loved to entertain with his wife Marilyn. Don passed away on October 4, 2015. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn nee Lane, dear father of Michael (Nancy) Kellerman and Jacqui (Jack) Weber, loving grandfather of Melissa (Ryan), Brian, Lindsey, Jason, Rachel and Jennifer, brother of Richard (Maureen) Kellerman and to all his cherished extended family that called him Uncle Don. Visitation Friday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Hwy. / Rt 14 and Rand Rd), Des Plains, where services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am.
