Dorothy A. Higgins of Des Plaines for 25 years Visitation for Dorothy A. Higgins (nee Ruge), 90, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. David C. Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Concordia Cemetery, Forest Park. Born July 4, 1920, in Chicago, she died Sunday, May 22, 2011, in Libertyville. She was the wife of the late Ned C. Higgins Sr.; mother of Deborah Rajzer, Ned Higgins Jr., Chris Higgins, Bill Higgins and Dorathy D. Higgins; grandmother of Jennifer Rajzer, Bob (Sherry) Higgins, Kimberly (Frank) Tobel and Shannon Higgins Evans; great-grandmother of Frankie, Kayla, Kyle, Kaiden, Haley, Ethan and Matison; and sister of William D. Ruge, Shirley Ruge, Ruth Barkes and the late Loretta Niedbala.
