Dorothy M. Miyake

Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack and is survived by her daughters Linda (Randy), Donna (Scott), Phyllis (Leo) & Jackie (Kenny). She was the proud grandmother of nine, and great-grandmother to nine. Dorothy’s kind, caring nature and sharp sense of humor touched everyone who knew her.

She had a gift for making others feel welcome in her home, always offering a warm meal or fresh baked goodies.

Dorothy had a gentle yet strong spirit and her love for her family and Church were paramount. Even in her later years, she was a source of inspiration, facing all challenges with strength, humility and grace and reminding us to cherish every moment and find beauty in the simple things.

Dorothy will be deeply missed but she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and family traditions that will continue to grow for generations to come.

A visitation for Dorothy will be held at the Christ Church of Chicago (6047 North Rockwell Street, Chicago, IL 60659) on December 27, 2025 from 11:00am until 12:30pm with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 12:30pm.
