Growing up with three other sisters allowed Dorothy to enjoy a bond not many people get to experience and set the tone for the importance of family throughout her life. After marrying the love of her life, Leonard in 1949, they enjoyed almost four decades of marriage before Leonard passed away in 1986. The two are now reunited as she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband. Together they built lifelong memories of being at the family cabin in Wisconsin and Dorothy's second home on the roller rink, an activity that she enjoyed into her 80's. Her career at Western Electric and AT&T lasted over thirty years in the financial auditing dept.
A wonderful life according to Dorothy, revolved around her loving family and enjoying many activities that brought her joy, including , being a volunteer at Alexian Brothers Hospital, St. Vincent DePaul Society and St. Zachary Church. Her family will never forget the many bowls of candy that were present at Christmas and arranged throughout the house, and joy in her face as the grandchildren opened their presents. She especially enjoyed the feeling of being on her skates and was even featured in a newspaper clipping when her beloved rink closed. Even in her last days, she said how she could not wait to get back out on her skates. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and being with her many friends. A longtime parishioner of St. Zachary Catholic Church, Dorothy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
