Eric G. Collins

Eric G. Collins, 42, of Arlington Heights was born May 15, 1971 in Ishpeming, MI and passed away suddenly April 17, 2014. Eric graduated from St. Norbert College in 1993 with a degree in psychology and communications. It was there where he met the love of his life, Laura McCaskey and they were united in marriage on September 2, 2000. Together, he and Laura were a wonderful team in raising their four children, Lillian (10), Evan (8), Leah (6), and Ethan (4). He spent every minute he could with them and enjoyed supporting their activities and coaching their teams, especially swimming. Eric was the devoted son of Bruce and Janice Collins; loving brother of Todd (Kim) Collins and Kirstin (Matt) Rose; dear son-in-law of Lil (Don) Korff and the late Timothy McCaskey; fond brother-in-law of Kevin McCaskey, Brian (Amanda) McCaskey and Scott (Nancy) McCaskey and fond uncle of Anthony, Emily, Hannah, Grace, Hayden, Madeline, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn and Emily. Eric served as the Senior Manager, HR Business Partner for Lundbeck in Deerfield, IL. Eric's loves were his faith, friends (especially "The Boys") and the Chicago Bears. He was a member of the Our Lady of the Wayside Parish in Arlington Heights, IL.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 3-8PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street (Northwest Highway/ Route 14 at Rand Road) Des Plaines, IL. Funeral will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014, beginning with prayers at 10:00 AM at the funeral home and proceed to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 440 S. Mitchell Street, Arlington Heights for funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Eric G. Collins Memorial Fund (to benefit his children’s education) c/o Oehler Funeral Home appreciated.
