Evelyn Kollaritsch, 90, formerly of Mt. Prospect, IL, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2020 in Greeley, CO. Her surviving nieces, nephews and their families, as well as Richard’s family will miss her terribly.

Evelyn was born November 1, 1929 in Chicago. She loved to listen to music and dance, and served as an administrative assistant at a Downtown law firm for forty years. After her husband's death, she met Richard and they spent many happy years together. They enjoyed the Renaissance Faire, antique shopping and spending time in both Colorado and Illinois with family and friends. She loved her flower garden, finding designer bargains and her dogs, Molly, Max and Scooby. Eve loved to laugh, had a beautiful smile, compassionate, dancing eyes and spunky disposition. After Richard's death in 2002, she moved to Greeley, CO to be close to her sister, Trudy and her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am Saturday, October 24, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 794 Pearson St., Des Plaines, IL, followed by burial at Ridgewood Memorial Park Cemetery in Des Plaines, and Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice, IL.

At one point, I worked close to Eve's home and would often join her for lunch. I'm surprised I kept that job because I returned late from lunch every time we got together. We spent so much time talking and laughing that we almost forgot to eat, which is hard to imagine because she was such a wonderful cook. Eve made the absolute best cream of spinach soup I have ever tasted!

The unconditional love and life Eve shared with my Dad made them both extremely happy. The strength of her love prompted him to become the man we once knew him to be, and I will be forever grateful.

My life is better because Eve was in it. Rest in peace you wonderful soul and may the Lord's perpetual light shine upon you. Condolences to all who had the pleasure of knowing you.

I first met Eve through my late father-in-law, Richard, after they had begun a long-term relationship. I was immediately struck by Eve's friendly and out-going personality. She had a great smile and a melodious tone in her voice. Over the years my family shared many holidays, birthdays, and special occasions with them both. I think Eve especially enjoyed hosting a Christmas gathering for our family. She was always the most generous and gracious host. Later on, after Richard had passed, she would sometimes call on me to drive her to run errands or take her dog, Max, to the vet, and I was happy to do so.

Eve was a very special lady and she is greatly missed. She will always be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
