A cherished husband, father, grandfather, and businessman, George leaves behind a legacy of hard work, passion, and love. George’s passions were many but none more than being a husband and partner with his late wife, Judith, whom he lovingly referred to “Dolly Cakes”. Having met on the first day of high school, they were married soon after graduation and spent 52 wonderful years together before Judith passed away in 2019. They were influential in participating in hobbies and activities that would be carried on by their children and grandchildren. Boating and water sports were an excuse for quality family time and allowed for memorable trips to various locations including Lake Michigan, the Chain-O-Lakes, and the Lake of the Ozarks. Being a married couple that could not get enough time together, they found new activities that piqued their interests, including dancing. Not only were they dance partners but also business partners and lead a successful company that is being carried on by the family. When George did enjoy some free time, he would work on and collect classic muscle cars, including his GEO442. A man who appreciated the art of masonry and quality time with the people he loved most, George will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Born on July 5, 1948, in Chicago to the late George Lipp and the late Ruth E. Lipp (nee Greenwood), he was the beloved husband of the late Judith Lipp (nee Wachsning); cherished father of the late Jeffrey Lipp and David Lipp; adored grandfather of Michael and Matthew Lipp; and dear brother of Darlene and Ruth Eleanor.
A Memorial Service will be held in the spring of 2026. Please continue to check George’s obituary for further information.
