Haesook was the beloved wife to John Kim; loving mother to Yoon Jae (Allyson) Kim and Paula Kim; cherished grandmother to Sofia, Henry, and Candyce; dear sister to Yun Joe (Kyong Hwa) Shim, John (Shin Ja) Shim, Yun Keith (Hwa Ok) Shim, Myong Sook Chung , Yun Duek (Kyung Ae) Shim; precious aunt to Julie Shim Ro, Kathy (Kenny) Hong, Kevin (Marie) Shim, Bernie (Yoo Jin) Shim, Jean (Daniel) Yun, Margaret (Kevin) Perra, the late Christine (Greg) Harden, Jenna (Kurt) Susanke, Kimberly (Peter) Cho, Christina (Louis) Deli, Ann (Frank) Ko, Sam (Linda) Chung, Tom (Janet) Chung, Bob (Alexa) Chung, Jimmy (Christine) Shim, Linda Shim, Laura (Daniel) Maynard-Wyzik; sweet great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Haesook will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Chapel Hill Garden West Funeral Home, 17W201 E. Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181, followed by a wake service at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, February 8, 2024, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Korean Martyrs Catholic Church, 224 Bruce Road, Lockport, IL 60441. A graveside service will be Thursday, February 8, 2024, 12:00 pm at Bronswood Cemetery, 3805 Madison St, Oak Brook, IL 60523
