

Born on November 3, 1938 in Chicago to Blaze and Bernice Czapla. Henry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering dedication.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Joan Czapla (Gucwa). Together they built a life full of cherished memories, especially their time spent in Door County, WI. Henry is survived by his son, John (Vickie) Czapla, his daughter, Ann (Adam) Crane and his sister Theresa Bigos. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Mackenzie, Jack, Henry, and Charles, each of whom brought immense pride and joy to his life.
Henry attended Gordon Tech High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. After completing his service, he earned a degree in Accounting and began his career at U.S. Gypsum. He later found his true profession at Lake Shore Country Club, where he served as the General Manager for 39 years. It was more than a job, it was his second home.
Known for his passion for golf, Henry found peace and happiness on the course. His infectious personality and genuine love for people made him the center of any gathering which led to many lifelong friendships.
Henry was reunited in death with his parents Blaze and Bernice Czapla, his brother, Edward Czapla, sisters, Irene Marzillo and Lottie Durso, his beloved dog, Maggie and many dear friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nina and Zina, for their compassion, kindness, and exceptional love and care over the last several years.
Henry was a man of strength, integrity, humor, and heart. Above all, he was a devoted family man who gave selflessly to those he loved. A life well lived, Henry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 14, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL.
Visitation will continue on Tuesday, July 15 at 10:00 AM at Oehler Funeral Home, followed by an 11:00 AM Mass at St. John Brebeuf Ministry Center, 8305 N. Harlem Ave, Niles, IL. Interment will follow at Maryhill Cemetery.
