Visitation for John M. Charnota, 70, will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, at the Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines, where services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Interment is private. Mr. Charnota was a Navy veteran and proud member of the Des Plaines Elks, American Legion Post #208 and Moose Lodge #660. He was the retired owner of Dimensions in Design of Des Plaines, and a die-hard Cubs fan. John was the beloved husband of Jean (nee Becker), to whom he was married for 46 years; dear father of Laura (Mark Siepka) Charnota and John (Katherine) Charnota; loving grandfather of Joshua, Nicholas and Allison; cherished brother of Arlene O'Connell; and fond uncle of Doreen, Daun and David.
