John P. Martin Jr. of Des Plaines, was the adoring husband of Grace Martin (nee Majewski) and the late Gwen Martin (nee Erb); beloved father of Rosemarie (Michael) Thielen, John Martin III and the late Anthony Martin; loving Pops of David, Kevin and Steven Schaefer; special Pop-Pop to Kevin Jr. and Sara Schaefer; brother of Joseph (Rosemary) Martin and the late Tony (Sharon) Martin; uncle to many nieces and nephews; and forever friend to many. John was a supervisor for Pfizer Inc. for 32 years. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (Northwest Highway/Route 14 at Rand Road), Des Plaines, where services will be held on Thursday, at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Charles G. Frisbie Senior Center.
