

Throughout high school, he was a member of the National Champion Royal Airs Drum and Bugle Corps. He was an alumnus of Weber High School, Loyola University, and IIT Kent College of Law. Joe was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity.
After law school, Joe was an Assistant State's Attorney in Cook County for over 20 years including Supervisor of District 3. In 1994, he was elected to the bench and served as a judge for the Criminal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County for another 20+ years until his retirement in 2015.
Joe was also a former alderman from the 2nd Ward of Park Ridge. He also served on various committees and volunteer organizations for both the City of Park Ridge and his church.
Beyond his career, his family was his pride and joy. In 1973, Joe married the love of his life, Donna, and together they raised three children. Joe enjoyed traveling, bowling, jigsaw puzzles, and golf.
Joe is survived by his wife, Donna (nee Marchetti), daughter Kathryn (Ed) LeFevour, two sons, DCCM Joseph (Rebecca) and Gregory (Emily), grandchildren Ginette, Gregory, Elizabeth, Victoria, Natalie, and Meredith, his mother, Carmella "Millie" Fabbiano (nee Ruggiero), sister Christine Kazmierski, uncle Frank Ruggiero, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph G. Kazmierski, and step-father, Joseph Fabbiano.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 20, 2022 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016. Visitation will take place from 9:30am until time of the service at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, please support the Prostate Cancer Research Institute, www.pcri.org/donate.
