

Joseph J. McCaskey, age 64, of Milwaukee and Des Plaines, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Park Ridge, IL, after a long illness. Joseph was born October 25, 1961, in Des Plaines, IL, the 11th child born to the late Virginia (Halas) and Edward McCaskey.
Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers Michael McCaskey and Timothy McCaskey; his nephews John and Eric; and his grand-niece Sadie.
Joseph is survived by his sisters Ellie (Barney) Tonquest, Mary McCaskey, and Anne (Mike) Catron; he is also survived by his brothers Patrick (Gretchen) McCaskey, Ed (Kathy) McCaskey, George (Barb) McCaskey, Rich (Brandon) McCaskey, and Brian (Barb) McCaskey.
Joseph is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families, including Kathryn, Carl, Amanda, Kevin, Brian, Amanda, Scott, Laura, Aimee, Steve, Bo, Renee, Charlie, Julie, Jake, Margaret, Beth, Jeffrey, Edward, Elizabeth, Tom, Liz, James, Emily, Michelle, Kathy, Natalie, Michael, Daniel, Conor, Caroline, Keegan, Kelly; grandnieces and grandnephews including Jackson, Kylee, Timothy, Josephine, Stephen, Madeline, Abby, Rowan, Katlyn, Brooklyn, Emily, Lilly, Evan, Leah, Ethan, Jake, Katy, Jack, Henry, Ellie, Emilia, Blake, Sean, Everett, George, Genevieve, Michael, Maddox, Kathryn, Jeffrey, Grace, Patrick, Charlotte, Violet Min, Eliza, Madeline, Clare, James, Molly, Luke, Claire, Virginia, Bernadette and Max.
The lifelong friendship Joseph had with Dan gave Joseph great joy, and he always looked forward to visits and phone conversations with Dan and his family.
Joseph and his family are eternally grateful to the wonderful people who provided excellent care and friendship for many years, including Kris and Bob Schramkowski, Marnel, Joel and Jiffy; his home dialysis technician Christy, home care nurse Mary Clare, and dear friend Michelle Lamping.
Other care managers over the years included Mary Jo, Susan, Sarah and Jennifer, all of whom cared well for Joseph.
Joseph also appreciated Gary, who was always honest with Joseph and helped him through some difficult times.
Joseph enjoyed giving to charities, both individually and through the family’s foundation.
A visitation for Joseph will be held at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home (2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL) on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
A private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, memorials to BESTD Clinic, 1240 E. Brady St., Milwaukee, WI 53202 are appreciated.
