Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Hyzy; loving mother of Patricia (John) Davies and Brian (Patricia) Hyzy; adored grandmother of Laura (Dan) Andrzejuk, Mark Hyzy, and Sarah Hyzy; dear sister of the late Louise Jarog and Walter Jarog; fond sister-in-law of Sylvia Jarog; cherished aunt, cousin and friend to many.
In her early years, Josephine, born and raised in the old Polish neighborhood in Chicago, was ambitious even as a child, having many jobs, which led to 'Rosie the Riveter' at Teletype during WWII.
After marrying Joe, and running a tv and radio repair business in Chicago they moved to Des Plaines to raise their children. Family vacations in the car were frequent, all over the U.S. Once her children were older she went back to work as a directory assistance operator, until she finally retired to Davis, IL. Her traveling continued, with favorites being Hawaii, London, Switzerland and Poland.
But most of all, keeping in touch, whether talking or visiting with her family, is what mattered most. She loved attending family events, and was especially proud of the achievements of her children and grandchildren.
Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to the Mayo Clinic can be made as a tribute in her name, https://philanthropy.mayoclinic.org/donateMC
