Katherine A. Williams-Serocki “Kathy”, daughter of Anne and William Williams was born February 2nd 1990. Kathy peacefully passed away on August 8th 2022 surrounded by her closest friends and family after a long battle with heart disease. Kathy is survived by her parents; her husband, Jeremy Serocki; and her sister Jenny Williams Walter (Mark Walter). She is preceded in death by her grandparents; Carol Harrop, Marge and Harry Williams and her aunt and uncle; Patti and Ralph Schumacher. She also leaves behind her four dogs, Ryder, Snoopy, Naomi and Beau.
Kathy’s life passion was advocating for all dogs, however her most favorite were Pitbull’s and French Bulldogs. You could find Kathy (and Jeremy) chasing down stray dogs on the side of the highway or around the neighborhood to make sure they arrived safely back to their rightful owner(s). If she could, she would have collected as many dogs, cows, llamas, and many other animals to claim them all as her own. Her dream was to own a sanctuary farm. Not only was she out saving one stray dog at a time, she spent many days at the Splash and Dash, where she naturally dictated orders to her counterparts, Anne and Bill.
Kathy was described by her friends as “patient, loving, supportive, and her laugh was contagious.” She loved children, especially babies and treated them as though they were her own. She enjoyed attending Carrie Underwood and Brantley Gilbert concerts, where she would sing loudly with the rest of the crowd. Kathy could, at times, be very impulsive. Once, she even attempted to street race her friend in her Nissan Altima Coupe. However, lost and received a ticket from the Vernon Hills police department instead. In recent years, Kathy enjoyed boating on the Chain O’Lakes with her friends and family where she would always yell “Go faster” and in return, she received a full face of water as we hit a wave, then laughed. Her sister Jenny on the other hand did not find it as funny but could never contain herself after hearing Kathy’s laughter.
When Kathy and Jeremy met in 2017, her life changed for the better. They met online and Jeremy would drive weekly to come visit Kathy, spending weekends with her. You always knew when Jeremy was over because you could clearly hear their combined laughter from anywhere in the house. They lovingly called each other ‘bae’ which confused everyone else, but seemed to be part of their own love language. Jeremy proposed to Kathy with a customized diamond ring that linked their initials together. He proposed on the boat because he knew she loved being on the water. They were married in an intimate ceremony on November 13th 2021. Jeremy provided Kathy with unconditional love and support. He was always by her side. When visitors were not allowed in the hospital, he would sleep in his truck in the hospital parking lot so she knew he was nearby. Their love for one another was endless. His level of devotion to Kathy was something to behold and hard to describe in words.
We were blessed to have watched Kathy grow into a kind, loving, faithful, loyal, supportive, and beautiful woman. Unfortunately, she left us far too soon. She had an impact on all who knew her that will last a lifetime. She will always be remembered as a vibrant light in our lives facing the obstacles life gave her with courage.
Until we meet again. Rest peacefully and beautifully our sweet Taffy girl.
