Dr. Kathryn Lee Defenbaugh DVM

Dr. Kathryn Lee Defenbaugh, DVM, 29, of La Mesa, CA was born August 13, 1986 in San Diego, CA and passed away suddenly on August 13, 2015. Katy was a 2004 graduate of Helix High School in La Mesa CA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of California San Diego in 2009 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California Davis in 2013. Katy was the cherished daughter of the late Rodger Janos and the late Dr. Diane Lee Defenbaugh, DVM; loving niece of Ralph (Deborah) Defenbaugh, John Defenbaugh and Patricia (Mark) Malartsik and dear cousin of Kristin (Zach) Kutch, Kelsey, Kylie, Angela and Daniel Defenbaugh and Katelyn, Allison and Megan Malartsik. Katy is also survived by her half-sister Lindsay Janos, daughter of Rodger and Sherre Janos. Visitation will be Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral service at 10:00 AM at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 1095 E. Thacker Street, Des Plaines. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia, IL. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Leader Dogs For The Blind, 1039 S. Rochester Road, Rochester, Michigan 48307 appreciated.
