

Kimberly Ann Bardwell, age 68, of Des Plaines passed away on November 26, 2024. Kim was born on February 29, 1956 in Chicago, IL to Donald and Kathryn Bluemel. She attended local schools and graduated from Maine West High School in Des Plaines. Kim furthered her education at Loyola University in Chicago and in 1979 she received her degree in business and marketing. She married Charles Bardwell on August 29th, 1981 in Clarendon Hills, IL. Kim worked as a special education teacher and the majority of her career as a real estate agent. She was a member of Grace Pointe Church in Naperville. Kim was also a member of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and the Modern Widows Club. Kim had a great passion for kids, and her grandchildren were her whole world.
She was preceded in death by her father and her husband.
Kim is survived by, her mother, Kathryn; two sons, Robert (Jill) Bardwell and Joseph (Chelsea) Bardwell; five grandchildren, Payton, Cameran, Adeline, Levi and Jackson Bardwell; her sister, Valerie (Gary) Braun; two nieces, Alison (Michael) Camasta and Jaclyn (John) Hollfelder; two great nieces, Giuliana Camasta and Ellie Hollfelder and a great nephew, Joseph Camasta. A step-son, Charles (Laura) Bardwell and their children, Ashley and Joshua Bardwell and her boyfriend, Jim Rinker.
A private service of remembrance for Kim will be held at a later date. The family asks that gifts of remembrance in Kim’s memory be made to CASA,
