As a child growing up in Germany, just outside of Berlin, during World War II, Freddy had the values of hard work, dedication, and compassion instilled in him. To help support his family, he took on the role of shining boots of soldiers. After the war, Freddy set out for a new life in the United States, where he established himself as business owner and well-known pizza oven repairman. While his work was a source of pride, he found his new role of husband and father to be the one that brought him the most joy. Freddy met his wife, Mona, after they were introduced to one another at a party. From there, their lives and love blossomed. Mona and Freddy shared their lives for ten years before finally tying the knot. Their lives together were one of love, kindness, and laughter. Freddy and Mona frequently traveled to Florida where they explored the state from coast to coast and making an incalculable number of memories along the way. Although they traveled the country, they were never too far from a pizza place that had one of Freddy’s ovens. His work as a pizza oven repairman brought him to different parts of the country where he brought with him his smile and passion. A dedicated pizza connoisseur, Freddy could not help but share his passion with Mona. He leaves behind a pizza sized hole that will be felt by all who knew him.
Born August 19, 1937, in a suburb of Berlin, Germany, Freddy was the beloved husband of Mona Kaeser (nee Cojocariu) for 15 years and spouse for over 25 years. Cherished father of Daniela, Simona, Cristine, and Vivian; adored grandfather of Giovanny, Cristian, Anthony, Phoebe, and Luca; fond brother of Edith; and dear friend of Joany.
