I used to be based in Chicago many years ago.  Sometimes I would fly with Marcy and Debbie.  They were so much fun to be with.  Later, after I transferred to Los Angeles, I would sometimes run into them in Tokyo or other locations.  I always looked forward to these times.  I especially enjoyed catching up with Marcy.  She was just the best and nicest flight attendant to work with.  
It saddens me that I will never see you again.  However, I know you're in Heaven with the angels.

God bless you beautiful, Marcy! You brought joy with you everywhere you went and even when you faced the greatest challenges you inspired with your positivity, fantastic work ethic and caring attitude towards others!

Always brought a smile to my face when I saw her name on my crew list. Brought a bit of sunshine to any trip, whether it was flying the northeast in the winter when we were junior or enjoying our seniority in the Islands, years later. My memories are of a sweet lady that will be missed.

My Beautiful, wonderful Cousin. We’ve known each other since we were babies.  We experienced the most fun childhood, ice skating, skiing, river rafting, bicycling, hiking, you name it.  Our trips to Big Sur, Santa Cruz, Mexico, Las Vegas, Turks and Caicus, Jamaica Lake Tahoe and Palm Desert are only a sprinkling of your full life and ever expanding experiences.  It was so much fun sharing some of these experiences with your fabulously fun Chicago friends.  These last years, though our lives have changed greatly, the way we connected, your great sense of humor, and your giving spirit had not changed. Your infectious smile and bubbling personality will be forever living on by all the people you have touched.  Thank you for being in my weddings, my daughter’s wedding, the God Mother of my daughter and all your support through out my life. Not a day will go by without thinking of you and the sparkling influence you have had in all our lives. 

We will all miss your beautiful smile, Grace, & laughter, Marcy. Flying with you through the years was always a treat. Your infectious personality & humor made our trips just priceless. It made me sad to hear this news.  Marcy was a big part of my and my friends lives ‘ growing up’ in downtown Chicago.  I saw her again about 15 years ago at a Christmas party and her infectious laugh and smile had not changed . Her personality and sense of humor will I’m sure be missed by many.  My condolences . 

I loved flying with Marcy. We had some fun times during our Honolulu days. I will always remember her laughter and smile. I am so sorry  for your loss . I did not know Marcy as well as most who have shared such kind and loving memories of her.
I manage a massage studio that Marcy has frequented for the past four years, I truly believe that my staff and I got more from Marcy's monthly visits then she may have. Her energy and love of life was so incredible, it was not possible to see her and not have your day bettered by it. My staff loved her, and always expressed their excitement when the saw that she was on their schedule. it is so rare that a person comes along that has the power to uplift and inspire everyone they meet, and Marcy did just that almost effortlessly. She will be missed.

Marcy was a beautiful person full of love, life, and laughs! We bonded over our love for our careers. Her wings were clipped too soon and will be deeply missed. Here is a candid photo from my wedding and one of my favorites. 

Our Lord created laughter, and Marcy shared her joy in abundance. How blessed am I, to have experienced special times in her presence over the past 39+ years of flying. Marcy was my best friend and troublemaker. We started out as flight attendants until the triple dog dare to become a pilot. In the beginning of my flying, I was very poor and Marcy let me move in with her and Mario 2 weeks after they got married. That’s a true friend!! We traveled together and  her laughter was contagious . I am so grateful I had her in my life. Rest in gods arms now and be free from pain. 

Marcy was a delight to fly with. She was always upbeat even with all her health issues. Our passengers loved her.  She will be remembered with love and be with her loving God.   

My bestie, for 40+years! We met at age 22, on a working flite at American Airlines , we went on vacation to puerto Vallarta together for 3 days, stayed for 7, bid to work together and never looked back! We flew together for 40 years after that. Marcy’s vibrant personality touched everyone who came in contact with her! I witnessed it daily! She had a ‘way’ with her humor of easing peoples troubled hearts and minds. She was the most incredible friend and I just always wanted to share her with everyone in my family and outside of my family, so they could just experience the joy of Marcy. I’m so blessed she chose me as her friend and ‘buddy bidder’....we were quite a team.  Our passengers even told us. Next to my husband and children, Marcy Jean Sayerstad-Oliva was God’s greatest blessing in my life.
I am so grateful for that and was so looking forward to growing old together with her. Now I will just have to remember how she taught me to seize life and make the most of it’s moments. Rest in Jesus’ loving arms my beautiful friend. I love you.

I met Marcy when she came to visit her best friend in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. 
We met up with her and a few friends laughed the entire evening.  Marcy was so full of life living and loving every moment. She shared her stories and fond memories of her travel experience with her flight attendant, best pal Louisa. 

I found  Marcy to be so dynamic her personality and smile was contagious.

I was privileged to know Marcy as a fellow Flight Attendant. I remember how she always knew her passengers and  their names. She was a kind soul and a generous spirit. My sincerest condolences.

My mom, Chris, and my auntie Marcy were the closest of friends. I am so blessed to have been apart of Marcy’s life because she was the most beautiful soul, inside and out. I will always cherish the wonderful memories I shared with Marcy at our monthly shopping, movie, and lunch dates. My auntie Marcy’s contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor will never be forgotten.
