A devoted follower of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Margaret is now basking in the radiance of our heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Mingey, her husband, Bob Mangelsdorf, brother, John Mingey and dear sister/cousin, Ann Slattery. Marge is survived by her brothers, Ed (Una) Mingey, Jim (Sharon) Mingey, children, Joe (Maria) Tomaselli, Mary (Rich) Gross and Margie Greaney, nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a fifth great grandchild on the way, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren.
Marge’s quick wit and infectious laugh signaled that the party had officially begun the moment she entered any room. A woman of boundless creativity, she was a gifted musician, singer, and actress. As a musical theater director, she inspired many—making everyone involved feel like part of something exciting. She especially adored her OPMT theater bunch! Beyond her artistic talents, Marge was the ultimate party hostess—she knew just how to throw a bash filled with music and laughter. Always ready with a, “how are ya, Kid” and a “large glass” of wine, she was a supportive, true friend, offering a helping hand without hesitation or judgment. To her grandchildren, she was Grammies—the *coolest* Grammies. Through their many gallivants, she introduced them to the magic of live theater and the vibrant culture of Chicago, nurturing a lifelong love for the city. To Marge, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest blessing. As a travel agent for many years, her adventurous spirit carried her across the globe, traveling to every continent, soaking in new experiences and perspectives, and sharing them with the many tour groups she led along the way. To her beloved brothers, she was Midge. To her kids, she was Moo. She was truly one of a kind—and deeply, deeply loved. Her spirit will live on in every note of music, every laugh shared, and every moment spent with those she loved.
