Maria Francisca Lopez Rodriguez

Maria Francisca Lopez Rodriguez, 75, of Des Plaines, IL passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born on December 3, 1949 in Cuernavaca, La Eterna Primavera, Morelos Mexico to Pedro Lopez and Josefina Rodriguez. As a young woman, she was an avid volleyball player and excelled in mathematics. Francis came to the US over 35 years ago to help her family achieve their dreams.

Francis loved playing bingo and poker—specifically when coins were at stake. She enjoyed spending her time outside in the garden and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. When she wasn’t outside or with her family, you would find her in the kitchen cooking and making her speciality, quesadillas with homemade tortillas.

Francis’ memory will live on in the hearts of her son, Oscar, her daughters Adriana (Raul) and Ruth (Nestor), her grandchildren, Adrian (Kaile), Jesus, Victor, Oscar, Kaitlyn and Itzel, her great grandson Chris, her brothers, Pedro (Lupe), Jorge and Jose as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Rocio, as well as her mother, father, sisters and brothers.

A visitation for Francis will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Oehler Funeral Home (2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, 60016).
