Maria Murillo, born Nov 20, 1973. Daughter of Jose and Estela Murillo. Sister of Carmen, Grace, Dolores, Benjamin, Eulogio Murillo. Aunt of Christopher, Daniel Hernandez, Patrick, Brenda Hogan, Manuel and Rosy De La Torre.
Maria attended Euclid elementary School, River Trails middle School, John Jersey H.S. and Harper College.
Maria was a very outgoing person who enjoyed the sun especially in California. She was a very hard worker at Montgomery Wards, JC Penny and Home Depot. She was great in math and fond of singing and loved classical music. Maria was a shoe lover of athletic shoes.
She loved her nieces and nephews so she babysat allot. She enjoyed plying with them and made them laugh so much. She was very giving especially to family and friends. If she had the money, she would buy presents for us when she we were in need.
Maria was very helpful to her parents. She drove mom to work for 13 years even though she started to get sick at that time. She was great at listening to our problems and comforted us in our hardships. Her Catholic belief kept her close to her family.
During college, Maria began experiencing mental illness so she became withdrawn from many people including her family and close friends. This turned her into a person we did not recognize or didn’t know how to handle. She became stubborn and sometimes unrecognizable. As she got worse, Maria only let certain people into her circle. Mom, dad and Loge. Dad and mom took care of her as much as they could.
February of this year, she was diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer. It was too late to save her! We were all devastated and rushed to get her the help she needed. We tried to make her as comfortable as possible. She finally started asking for her brother Ben and let her family get close to her again.
Our dear loving Maria left us on Tuesday April 21, 2020. But she passed on at home with mom and dad by her side holding her hand, next to the saints Jesus with Mary, Virgen De Guadalupe. She’s no longer suffering. We will always remember her beautiful smile and keep her in our hearts.
Maria we LOVE you! Rest in peace!
