And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!”  (Revelation 14:13)

I was reading this passage early in the morning and it spoke to me about my dear Mama (Maria) which I considered her to be blessed in the arms of God.  Papa(Nicolas) and Mama(Maria) have always had and will have a special place in my heart. They are my inspirations and I love them both dearly.  I will miss Mama(Maria), but I know that she is in a better place, rejoicing with the Lord.

Dearest beloved Susana, Gabe, Marta, and Papa Nicolas,
I did not have the privilege to get to know the magnificent, faithful, God-loving woman I heard about by all of those who gave eulogies and testimonies to Marie's life at the service on Thursday.  But she and I had a common vein running through us - the love of her daughter Susana (my friend) and the love of gardening.  Susana was our link, sharing my stories and pictures with Marie and vice versa.  I know we would have been great pals should we have found ourselves together in the same garden.  And though that didn't happen here on this Earth in her garden in Park Ridge Illinois, it will happen some day in the ultimate garden of our Lord and Risen Saviour.  I look forward to the day when she and I can plant thousands of flowers together and then sit down to enjoy each other's company, with no language barrier and no time constraints.  May all of you, dear family, find comfort in knowing the Lord is pleased with his good and faithful servant and you shall be together again for all eternity.  God's peace and love be with you all.

The Lord called, chose, blessed, and used Maria. She was a faithful wife, faithful mother and a faithful servant of The Lord. She is in the glory with the most beautiful reward, resting in the arms  of our beautiful Savior. She finished the race in victory. May The Lord comfort her family with His word and help us all to finish the race in victory as well. Amen.

I had the pleasure of meeting Susana's mom Georgescu's mom about 6 years ago when I used to bring my then 6 year old daughter to take piano lessons with Susana at her home.  While she was taking her piano lessons, I would walk outside with Susana's mom and she would proudly show me her beautiful garden of flowers and every week she taught me something new about how to take good care of flowers and plants. She was so proud of her beautiful work and the flowers could be seen from the main road. I looked forward to this time that I would spend with her and saw how hard working she was and how loving and caring of a person she was too.  You will be missed and may the Good Lord rest your soul in peace.

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Maria, my friendship with Susanna and Gabe left a loving memory of her.  I loved seeing pictures of the beautiful flowers she planted each year...and the way she enjoyed the Finch birds that I gave to Susie.  Maria will be truly missed by many and has left a loving memory in our hearts.  Our sincere and deepest sympathy to the family.

Uplifting the Slobodian family in prayer. My deepest sympathies got out to you. May the Lord continue to bless and comfort you during this time. We can rejoice in knowing that Sister Maria is with her Father in heaven. I will never forget her smile. Her genuine joy to serve the Lord and her church. She was sweet and tender, I could never get enough hugs and kisses from her. Not to mention, she had a fabulous sense of style. I will always remember her beautiful broaches. Sister Maria was extremely important to our family system. Her example of a God fearing woman will not be forgotten.
