Mary Allegretti

June 5, 1965July 17, 2020

Mary (McNeela) Allegretti (June 5, 1965 – July 17, 2020) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Her courage and strength have been an inspiration to everyone who were blessed to know her. Mary is survived by her loving husband David Allegretti and children Matthew, Erin, Ashley and Ryan. She is welcomed into Heaven by her father Martin E. McNeela, and grandparents Bryan and Sabina McNeela and Andrew and Victoria Krautter. She leaves behind a huge adoring family including her mother JoAnn (Krautter) McNeela, brothers Martin A McNeela (Isabelle) and Bryan McNeela (Cathy), sisters Kathleen Burns (Michael), Karen McNeela, Susan Alcazar (Greg), 42 nieces and nephews, … and Shelby and Seamus. Private Visitation planned for Monday, July 20th with a Funeral Mass on Tuesday. In these difficult times, which will make a traditional sharing of grief at a wake difficult, we encourage those who loved her to share their thoughts and memories at Oehler Funeral Home website page. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be sent to Project Purple (projectpurple.org) or to the Little Sisters of the Poor. (littlesistersofthepoorchicago.weshareonline.org)

Dear Allegretti Family,
We are so, so, sorry and saddened to hear about Mary’s passing. She was taken too soon. She was always smiling and full of life and handled her cancer with such courage and strength. May her courage and strength sustain you all at this difficult time and may you find peace and comfort over time.

Sending you my virtual hug, sharing tears for the loss of Mary. What an amazing woman she was, funny, kind, and loving. I loved her frequent laughter. I loved it when she would come to me on Monday mornings not feeling well then hearing about her outrageous eating and drinking over the weekend! She really knew how to enjoy life and be happy! She truly blessed my life, I will never forget her. I have included your family in my prayers and will continue to do so, praying for comfort for all of you. Love, Deb Hargrove

Auntie Mary,
Where do I begin? You were/are such a incredible light. Never once in my life were you not warm and wonderful to me. You always grabbed my babies and never let them go. Your positivity was nothing sort of spectacular. I know my Dad and you are together giggling and keeping each other company. We miss you both so much. Easy to say you two had the biggest hearts. Rest Easy!
I love you.

So many beautiful memories with a beautiful girl I was Privileged to call my sister-in-law (sister) for many years that I cannot single out just one. She brightened every occasion, brought a smile to every face, had that dry, sardonic sense of humor. Quick- witted, she could spin a tale and make you laugh out loud at a moment’’s notice. A phenomenal mother, she raised 4 thriving children who will never do anything but carry-on the lessons she taught them. Mary how much we will miss your presence but you have given all of us so much, so many dear memories to hold fast in our hearts. God bless all of us! We love you Irish girl because you’re the best!

Aunt Mary,
From the moment I met you 12 years ago, you always made me feel so welcomed into the family. I always looked up to your positivity and parenting skills. You will be truly missed. My favorite memories are at Nonnie's house and Halloween fun. You always had such a special way to make all of our kids feel so loved. I will continue to keep you in my prayers. May you rest in peace. We miss you terribly. 💔❤️🙏🏼
