

On Wednesday, December 30, 2020, Michael B. Coleman passed away at the age of 83. Michael was the beloved husband of the late Carol (nee Johnson ) Coleman; loving father of James (Nicole) Coleman and Linda (John) Kull; devoted grandfather of Kelli, Jonathon, Conrad and Elise; dear brother of the late Geraldine (late Ernie) Thompson, late Tom Coleman, late Ellen (Raymond) Vandemerkt and the late Bernell Rizzo; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews, dear friends and co-workers.
Michael was born on November 5, 1937 in Chicago to Bert and Nellie (Coughlin) Coleman. On May 7, 1960, he married Carol Lynn Johnson. They were married for 43 years. They raised two children Jim and Linda. He had four beautiful grandchildren, Kelli, Jonathon, Conrad and Elise.
Mike was a proud member of the Theatrical Stage Employees Union Local 2 of Chicago. He earned his journeyman’s card in 1958. He retired in 2006. Also, Mike had a passion for hot rods. His dream was to be a race car driver. He also loved to spend time with his family and endless sporting events and recitals for his grandchildren. His favorite saying was “Treat people how you want to be treated.” He was known for his many stories, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9th, 2020 at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St, Des Plaines, IL 3pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be on Monday, January 11th at St. Zachary Church, 567 W. Algonquin Road, Des Plaines at 10am.
