Miguel Hernandez Jr.

Miguel “Mike” Hernandez Jr., 59 of Chicago was born on December 16, 1963 in Chicago to the late Miguel Hernandez Sr. and Elisa (Garcia) Hernandez and passed away on December 4, 2023. Mike was the loving father of Ana, Jessica, and Faith Hernandez; beloved grandfather of Armani, Aiyana, Romeo, and LiAngelo; dear brother of Irma, Elia, Eddy, the late Israel, Theresa and fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Mike took pride in being a Chicago Firefighter and loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. Mike certainly loved his tequila and cigars and knew how to have a good time with family and friends and was always ready to capture any memory by taking photos and videos. Mike was the type of father who would drop everything to be with his daughters and grandchildren, especially in times of need. His smile, laugh, voice, and his corny jokes will forever live on and bring joy to those who knew him. He will truly be missed.

Rest In Peace Daddy. You will forever be our hero and always in our hearts.

A visitation for Miguel will be held Monday, December 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL 60016, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM. An interment will occur Monday, December 11, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016.
