Richard Dean Marchiori, 69, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 30, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer-related health issues. Rick was born on August 27, 1954 to the late Udino and Ada Marchiori. Rick was the beloved brother of Dina (Marchiori) Cotter and brother-in-law of Dennis Cotter. He adored his nieces, Meaghan Cotter, Beth (Russ) Toth, and Elaine (Ian) Cotter-Johnston.
Rick leaves behind many cousins and dear family friends from childhood and beyond. He will be greatly missed by the Riis Park gang. Perhaps his only true love beyond his family and childhood friends were golf and the Chicago Cubs (and maybe the Bears.) He was always a connector of people and remained so to his last days. His gentle but firm demeanor, and love and genuine concern for others will remain his legacy. Rick’s devotion to his Catholic faith was strong and unwavering.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. Des Plaines, IL 60016. Prayers will be said Friday, April 5, 2024 at 9:15 AM at the funeral home and then proceed to St. Mary’s Church for the funeral mass at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be at All Saints Cemetery.
