As a quiet and easy going soul, Rich is a shining example of how to live a life of peace and tranquility with those he cared about most. Rich was passionate about racket ball all his life and played it often. He always found a home next to the water, whether it was on his family’s small property on Lake Delavan in Wisconsin or the beaches of Hawaii. He and Dorothy would each pick a trip to take during the year and without fail, Rich always picked Hawaii. Having met during college at Loyola University, Rich and Dorothy shared many common interests (namely similar majors of study) and quickly became inseparable. They married in 1971 and enjoyed 55 memorable years of marriage. Rich’s career as a CPA and financial planner was a perfect fit for someone who reveled in pouring over numbers and helping assist those who sought out his services. His life was one that was uniquely Rich, and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
Born on October 9, 1946, in Chicago, to the late Fred J. Schwarz and the late Anna Schwarz (nee Trattner), Rich was the beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Kucera). Cherished uncle of Christine Sleeman (Ed Claudio); dear brother of Ronald Joseph Schwarz (Jan Genke); adored great uncle of Crystal Sleeman (Frank Mustari) and Loretta Sleeman (Ethan Breyn); loved brother-in-law of Diana Kucera (the late Jim Kucera); fond friend of Carole Koeune and family and Ed Whetstone and family; and nephew, cousin, and second cousin to many.
