

Bob served in the Navy during WWII, and later in the reserves, obtaining the rank of ETSSM (Electronic Tech Specialist Seaman). Bob was an avid sportsman and downhill skier until the age of 89. He was a patron of the arts; enjoying concerts, plays and musicals. Bob graduated with honors from Western Reserve University in 1949. He was a member of the Glenview American Legion Post 166, Des Plaines Elks Club and Christ Church. Bob worked in sales for Dun & Bradstreet.; he was the first Director of Database Marketing. He retired in 1986 after 38 years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Alice Jean Zeller. The past five years he was also devoted to Gloria Nelson, his loving companion, she truly enriched the last years of his life. He was the caring father of Susan (Thomas) Decker, Deborah (Robert) Mellette, Jennifer (Doug) Matsuoka, Melissa Schleicher (Ted Bradley) and Robert H. Zeller (Crystal Chavez). He was the proud grandfather of 27, great-grandfather of 29 and great-great-grandfather of 1.
