Roy Martinez

Born on July 1, 1978 in Chicago, IL to Jose Agapito Martinez and Maria Isabel Martinez. He was the youngest of his siblings. He was a fun, loving and caring person who touched the lives of everyone he came across. Roy was a jack of all trades who traveled, worked in different fields, and had a wide range of hobbies. His greatest hobby was his love of music. DJ “Ruthless Roy” was a friend to many in the Chicago DJ community.

Roy’s unexpected passing comes as a shock to his family, friends, and loved ones, who are still reeling at the loss. Roy lived a good life and still had so much ahead of him. He was taken far too soon.

Roy was proceeded in death by his father Jose Agapito, sister, Olga Lilia and is survived by his mother, Maria Isabel, brother Armando and sister-in-law Magdalena, nephews, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Joelle, and niece Ariel. He also leaves behind great niece and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and so many dear friends and family members.

He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

A visitation for Roy will be held at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL on September 17, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1170 North River Road, Des Plaines, IL on September 18, 2026, at 10:00 am with a committal service to immediately follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, 8600 North Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL.
