

Susan C. Dubberke, 89, of Prospect Heights, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Robert for 66 years, she was the loving mother of the late Bob (Ginny), Jim (Linda), and Kathy; devoted grandmother of Stacy, Brian, Michelle, Colleen, Bob, Harry, Jimmy, Kyle, Michael, and Kris; and proud great-grandmother of fifteen. She was also the dear sister of the late Frank Koskosky and a loyal, lifelong friend to many.
Born on October 7, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, Susan grew up in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, where she met Robert. The couple later settled in the Hermosa neighborhood to raise their family, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. In the mid-1990s, they retired to Prospect Heights.
Known for her warm spirit and lively personality, she made everyone feel welcome and brought joy to every gathering. Susan will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, IL, followed by a celebration of life from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
Instead of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, which helps disabled veterans and first responders. Memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at the Oehler Funeral Home for the Dubberke family.
