Teresa H. Mirek

She was born in Czerna, Poland in 1956 to Czesława and Sylwester Godyń, and was the oldest child of three. Teresa spent half of her life in Poland, before deciding to move to the United States at the age of 38. She spent her years in the United States working hard to provide for her family in any way she could.

Teresa was preceded in death by her Father (Sylwester Godyń) and her husband (Bogdan Mirek), and is survived by her Mother (Czesława Godyń), her siblings (Andrzej Godyń and Elżbieta Wrońska), her children (Kathy and Robert Malecki, Natalie and John Mysz, Sebastian and Iwona Mirek), her grandchildren (Julian, Maya, Gabriella, and Sonia) and her grand pups (Bosco, Styx, and Izzy).

Friends and family will gather for a wake for Teresa that will be held at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois 60016, on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023 from 3 - 8pm and the funeral service will be held at St. John Brebeuf Parish, 8307 North Harlem Avenue, Niles, Illinois 60714 on Thursday, October 26th, 2023 at 12pm. A burial service will follow immediately at Ridgewood Memorial Park.

Donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated, in place of flowers.
