Mr. Knowles was also a horse lover.  He participated in horse racing successfully, and subsequently the Hunters/Jumpers to rehabilitate off-the-track Thoroughbreds.   Several of the horses were Arbitrage who became a steady hunter after he decided that he did not want to be a race horse.  And, Top Gun became famous by winning many Jumper Stakes from Florida to Michigan.  Mr. Knowles concluded his horse activities around 2004.  He and Mrs. Knowles were friends during that time.    My condolences are sent to these really good people.  Mr. Knowles will be missed.

Hi, Judy and family:
I'm so sad to hear about the passing of your dear husband Tom, so so sorry, my deepest and sincere condolences to all of you.  During this difficult time in your lives, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.  May the Dear Lord give you comfort, strenght and peace and may the good memories prevail. Loving & comforting wishes for all of the Knowles  family. I remember Tom when we used to get together with his Dad, Uncle Bud and the Dalmatians for family get-togethers.

My favorite memory of Uncle Tom is from the early 80’s. He and Aunt Judy were hosting the Knowles family Christmas gathering. It was picture taking time - each of the five siblings would pose with their family as everyone else took pictures.  As we were getting started, Uncle Tom suggested that he join each group so that future generations would be puzzled as to why he was in all the pictures. I still think that’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. My guess is that his sisters vetoed the idea,  but I still have fun thinking about it!
