Thomas W. Stift, age 57, devoted husband of Jill, nee Metz, Stift. Preceded in death by parents Elmer W. and Marion Stift. Loving brother of William (Diane) Stift, and brother in law Kellen (Jeff) Rafferty; beloved uncle of Staci (Robin) Stift, Stefanie (Adam) Strojny, Daniel (Randi) Stift, Zachary Smith and Nicholas Smith; fond great uncle of Kenneth and Lilyan Stift; and loving friend of his longtime and devoted caregiver Michael Mbiduka. A graduate of Maine East High School and the University of Illinois. He was a longtime employee of both Washington National Insurance and Allstate Insurance, and an avid square dancer, where he had many, many close friends. Funeral service Thursday, 9 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. at Swan Lake Chapel on the grounds of Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines, IL. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to National M.S. Society or American Cancer Society.
